Job description

Paediatric Nurse

Salary: £ £32,240 - £37,960

Location: Plymouth

As a Paediatric Nurse for our client, you'll get the rewards and recognition you deserve - everything from a company car (or car allowance) to 33 days' annual holiday. But let's talk about the role you'll be doing first.

What you'll do

Working closely with a hospital or healthcare centre, you'll be a source of knowledge, helping families (or care givers) care for a child patient. You'll show them how to provide the right nutrition, how to administer medication and explain biologic therapies. You'll also make sure the patient is well enough to receive treatment, checking metrics such as o2 saturation, blood pressure and heart rate. Once the patient leaves hospital, you'll continue to provide support over the phone, at a clinic and via home visits.

Who you are

A registered RSCN or RN-C Nurse, you'll have worked as a Paediatric Nurse before, either in a hospital or in the community. You'll therefore have the necessary skillset, which includes clinical assessment, administering sub-cutaneous injections and cannulation. You'll also have a good understanding of relevant therapies and NHS knowledge. In short, you'll know how to manage patients and their conditions - but that's not all…

You'll also approach you work with an eye for detail, patient focus and the flexibility to cope with changing demands. And you'll know the importance of following protocols and making the most of your time. Above all, you'll communicate clearly, putting people at ease. An organised team player, you'll be there supporting families and providing vital, high quality care.

The rewards you'll receive

Your work is critical - and the rewards will reflect this. Join our client's team and this is what you can expect:

  • Company car or car allowance
  • London weighting (where applicable 20% of salary offered, capped at £7,738.85)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Private healthcare cover
  • Death in service (x4 salary)
  • Annual holiday - 33 days inclusive of bank holidays
  • Professional registration fees paid
  • Weekend and evening enhancements (30% Saturday, 60% Sunday and 30% after 8pm - only available to grade 6 or below)
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Company mobile phone and tablet device
  • Comprehensive induction
